The HSE Library is young, like the university itself. Founded in 1994, the Library has grown consistently, and today, its collection comprises over 700,000 books and periodicals. The Library subscribes to approximately 400 Russian periodicals and 130 international journals. Access to online resources became an essential step in the Library’s development in 2001, and today it offers a wide range of electronic resources, including e-books and journals, databases of peer-reviewed literature, patents, business data and other data collections. Our collections are among the largest in Russian academia and are continuously expanding.

The Library’s collections are housed at several different locations. The Central Library is located at 20 Myasnitskaya Ulitsa. The total number of readers registered in 2016 was approximately 24,000. More than 800 individuals visit the Library daily.
